The New Jersey Nets have signed first round draft pick Sean Williams, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today.  Per team policy, terms of the agreement were not released.

Williams, the 17th overall pick in the 2007 NBA Draft, played 69 games in three seasons at Boston College, leading the team in blocks each season.  As a junior in 2006-07, Williams played in and started 15 games, averaging 12.1 ppg, 6.9 rpg and 5.0 bpg while setting a school record with 75 blocks.  He posted a triple-double against Duquesne with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 13 blocks and opened the season with 12 blocks and 10 rebounds in a game at Providence. Williams appeared in 27 games as a sophomore, leading or tying the Eagles in blocked shots 21 times and ranking third in the ACC with 1.8 bpg. As a freshman, he played in 27 games earning Big East All-Rookie Team honors after averaging 4.1 points, 3.3 rebounds and 2.3 blocks in league contests.
