Isiah Thomas has not committed to carrying either of the Knicks' draft picks on the team roster next season.

First-round pick Wilson Chandler has shown skill and poise during summer league action in Las Vegas and second-round pick Demetris Nichols has also impressed.  Thomas said Nichols can shoot and defend and is "definitely in the plans."

But both players remain unsigned which allows the Knicks, with a full roster, to keep their options open.

For instance, Nichols could be asked to play overseas next season while the Knicks retain his rights.  The team could also be preserving the flexibility to include Chandler and Nichols in a trade by dealing their draft rights in the near future.  Once a draftee is signed, he cannot be traded for 30 days.
