The 76ers are continuing negotiations to extend Andre Iguodala's contract by the Oct. 31 deadline. Iguodala said Monday that he was hoping for an extension but would not allow the talks to affect him.

The Sixers own the guard and forward's rights for the next two seasons, including this year. If the sides do not come to an agreement by Oct. 31, they can't resume negotiations until July.

"It doesn't affect me personally at all," Iguodala said. "It's a business, and my agent is taking care of that."

Iguodala, who will earn $2.8 million in his fourth season with the Sixers, averaged 18.2 points and 5.7 rebounds last season.

"This is where I want to be," he said. "If it happens, great, and if it doesn't, I still have to go out and play ball."
