NBA Commissioner David Stern says he has had no discussions with the New York Knicks about intervening in the franchise's off-court soap operas or on-court problems, according to a report in Newsday.

According to multiple media reports, Stern asked Cablevision owner Charles Dolan -- whose son James Dolan runs Madison Square Garden and the Knicks -- to make changes in management at Madison Square Garden in the wake of a sexual harassment lawsuit against MSG and the team's questionable on-the-court personnel decisions.

Stern was also reported to have approached James Dolan during a board of governors' meeting and said "Either you take care of it, or I will."

According to Newsday, Stern said neither of those things happened.
