Frustrated with the Heat's poor start, Pat Riley suggested stubborn pride and egos might be preventing the Heat from facing reality -- and doing more to change it.

"Until we accept that we're 4-13 and one of the worst teams in the league -- until they humble themselves to accept that -- this isn't going to change," Riley said after Wednesday's practice. "If you think it's going to change on its own because you have a bunch of high-profile names on the back, it ain't going to work."

The Heat has lost three games in a row by a combined 45 points and is off to its worst start in five seasons. Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal said there needs to be more accountability and less rhetoric.

"Yep, to whatever Pat says," O'Neal said, flatly.
