Bulls' chairman Jerry Reinsdorf has clarified comments he made recently about former Coach Scott Skiles, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune is reporting.

"Scott told [general manager] John [Paxson], 'I think this team might need a new voice,' " Reinsdorf said Sunday at the United Center. "I can't believe I was so sloppy with my words. Scott did an excellent job here."

Reinsdorf's original words imply Skiles wanted out.

"Scott would never quit on a team," interim Coach Jim Boylan said. "Scott's a dedicated professional. I think Scott's a realist. He sees what's going on around him, and he's not afraid of the truth."
