The Toronto Raptors are suing the Spanish basketball federation for "payment of insurance proceeds related to Jorge Garbajosa's injury," the Toronto Star is reporting.

According to the report, the Spanish federation took out a $1 million insurance policy on Garbajosa to allow him to play in last summer's European Championships.  The policy was meant to protect the Raptors' in case Garbajosa re-injured his leg by coming back early.

While Garbajosa did not hurt his leg playing in the Championships, he did not return to the NBA fully healthy and was eventually forced to undergo surgery on the same leg in December.
