The Los Angeles Clippers today announced that the team has signed restricted free agent guard Kelenna Azubuike to an offer sheet for a multi-year agreement.  Azubuike is currently a restricted free agent who has played the last two seasons with the Golden State Warriors.

Under the rules of the NBA?s Collective Bargaining Agreement, once a restricted free agent is signed to an offer sheet, his current team has seven days to match the offer once it receives a copy of the original offer sheet. In this case, the proper documentation has been forwarded today via overnight carrier to the Warriors and is scheduled to be received on Friday, July 18.

In the last two seasons with the Warriors, the 24-year old Azubuike averaged 8.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.8 assists in 122 games. The former University of Kentucky standout appeared in 81 contests last season for Golden State.
