Thunder forward DJ White will undergo surgery on his jaw, announced today by the team.

Team physicians will perform surgery next week to remove a benign growth from White's jaw. As a part of the operation, doctors will take a bone graft from the 6-9 rookie forward's hip to mend the bone in his jaw.

Team officials expect White to miss 4-6 months following the surgery.

The Tuscaloosa, Alabama native was the 29th overall pick by the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the 2008 NBA Draft. The Thunder acquired White as a part of a draft day trade. White was the Big Ten Player of the Year as a senior at the Indiana University where he averaged 17.4 points and 10.3 rebounds per contest.
