There were only two games on the schedule in the NBA on Sunday night, with the Bucks taking on the Knicks at Madison Square Garden and the Timberwolves traveling to Oklahoma City to battle the Thunder.
The Milwaukee Bucks used a strong third quarter to defeat the New York Knicks for their second win of the season on Sunday night. All five starters scored double figures for the Bucks while rookie Luc Mbah a Moute added 11 points and 10 rebounds off the bench. Milwaukee outrebounded New York by seven and held the home team to just 37% shooting. Quentin Richardson led the Knicks with 28 points and 9 rebounds, and Zach Randolph added 15 points and 13 boards of his own in the loss. Rookie Danilo Gallinari did not play for the Knicks, who attempted a team-record 36 shots from downtown. Michael Redd left the game in the third quarter with a sprained ankle.

The Oklahoma City Thunder used a six-point edge in the fourth quarter to beat the Minnesota Timberwolves and earn their first win since moving from Seattle. Kevin Durant had 18 points and 5 rebounds while Nick Collison added 10 points and 10 boards. Both teams shot 42% from the field, but the Thunder outrebounded the Timberwolves by twelve. Al Jefferson starred for Minnesota with 24 points and 13 rebounds while rookie Kevin Love added 4 points and 4 boards in the loss. Neither team held a lead of more than nine points, with Minnesota leading 65-56 midway through the third quarter.
