Celtics' star Paul Pierce watched former teammate James Posey get his championship ring on Friday night and wishes that the forward still called Boston home.

"I'm a little upset he couldn't be with us this year for the journey," Pierce said, "but I'm happy for him because he was definitely a big part of what we did."

The championship ring was the second for Posey, who also won one with Miami in 2006.

"That was great," Posey said of the pregame ceremony the Celtics held to give him his ring before Boston battled New Orleans. "The coach, the team, and the whole organization came out there and presented me with that ring. It's a classy thing to do. I thank them for that."
