Jason Kidd has bought into the hype that the Knicks will be a major player in the highly-anticipated free agent summer of 2010.

"It's a great place. That's one of the best stages on professional sports," Kidd said Thursday. "When you talk about the likes of those free agents, you can have a better situation being able to not just get one, but get 2 1/2. So we'll see."

Players like LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh are expected to become free agents in the summer of 2010.

Kidd is a member of the 2009 class, but wouldn't rule out New York as a possible destination.

"Yeah, why not? I'm going to look and see," Kidd said with a smile. "Coach [D'Antoni] is great. I got to know him a little this summer [with the Olympic team]. D'Antoni has a great philosophy. I think people enjoy watching that."
