The Nuggets won their 50th game of the season on Thursday night, marking the first time in franchise history that they have recorded back-to-back 50-win seasons.

Denver defeated Utah 114-104 at the Pepsi Center on the strength of J.R. Smith's eight three-pointers.

"Fifty wins is in the coaching profession, it's pretty important, it's a notch in the belt," coach George Karl said. "As I constantly tell you, I don't think any of you thought we were going to win 50 this year."
