The Lakers were thrilled to have escaped Game 2 with a victory on Sunday night, and were happy with their energy level.

"I don't think we had a drop-off at all," Kobe Bryant said. "Our energy was higher than the other night. The energy was there. It was just that they made their adjustments. Now we have to make ours. We have to be ready to go in Game 3."

Bryant said after Game 1 that he wanted the Lakers to keep their foot on the gas after their dominant victory.

"There is a sense of relief, because they played very well," Lakers coach Phil Jackson said.

Orlando had a chance to win in regulation. With 0.6 seconds left, coach Stan Van Gundy designed a perfect out of bounds play, but Courtney Lee missed a layup attempt that would have won the game.

"Heck of a play designed by a heck of a coach," Bryant said. "Brilliant play, a very, very smart play he drew up."
