Agent Lon Babby said that a late offer from the Raptors made Hedo Turkoglu change his mind about signing with the Trail Blazers.

"Portland did everything we asked them to do ... he simply decided Toronto was a better fit," said Babby.

"Toronto kind of jumped in at the last minute and that gave him pause to reconsider."

The city has a diverse population, including a sizable Turkish community, which is believed to have played a substantial role in Turkoglu's decision.
