Celtics restricted free agent Glen Davis has turned down a chance to play for the United States this summer.

The forward declined the opportunity to take part in Team USA's minicamp July 22-25 in Las Vegas.

Davis opted not to participate due to his unresolved contract status, while Boston teammates Rajon Rondo and Kendrick Perkins also declined invites.

"He's not going to go," said Davis's agent, John Hamilton. "We thought about it and thought about it. We need to err on the side of caution. He wants to participate, but the last thing he wants to do is be affected in a bad way where it can hurt a team?s interest in bringing him on."
