The Heat are only going to add another point guard to their roster if they feel the move is absolutely necessary.

Miami president Pat Riley pointed out to the Miami Herald that the team is already nearly $3 million over the league's luxury tax threshold.

They currently have 16 players on their training camp roster, four fewer than the NBA's preseason maximum.

Free agent options include Bobby Jackson, Jamaal Tinsley, Tyronn Lue and Stephon Marbury.

Injuries to guards Quentin Richardson (left ankle) and Chris Quinn (right foot) could force the team's hand.

"Especially once we found out that [Chris] Quinn might be out more than a week," coach Erik Spoelstra admitted. "It might give us an opportunity to take a look at somebody."
