The Wizards plan to sign free-agent guard Earl Boykins, sources told ESPN.com.

Washington is looking to Boykins for help in their injury-depleted backcourt. Randy Foye (ankle), Javaris Crittenton (foot) and Mike James (hand) are all suffering from ailments.

Boykins has been looking to return to the NBA after spending last season in Europe.
