Knicks president Donnie Walsh is happy with the job coach Mike D'Antoni has done despite the club's dismal record.

"That's unfair," Walsh said of blaming D'Antoni for New York's 1-9 start. "I'm happy with Mike. I'm very happy with Mike."

Walsh added that he's put D'Antoni in a difficult position by focusing on the 2010 offseason, leaving the team with some mismatched parts and a boatload of expiring contracts.

"I hate to put a coach in a position that's a difficult position," he said. "And I've definitely done that."
