The Celtics could get guard Tony Allen back as early as Wednesday night against the 76ers.

Allen has been rehabilitating from right ankle surgery.

"Tony looked good (Tuesday)," Rivers said.

"I think for him it's going to be a confidence thing (Monday). I didn't think he looked good, and today he looked terrific. He was exploding to the basket. So I think he's very close. We'll wait until (Wednesday) and see how he feels."

Allen has career averages of eight points and 2.4 rebounds per game.
