Bobcats coach Larry Brown doesn't want Allen Iverson to give up on his NBA career.

Brown, who coached Iverson in Philadelphia, believes that the guard "still has a passion to play" and shouldn't retire.

A report earlier this week indicated that Iverson will retire after receiving little interest from NBA teams.

"Anybody that knows him understands how much he loves to play," said Brown.

However, the coach believes that Iverson might be embarrassed by the lack of interest he received.

"Think about it: You're an MVP in the All-Star Game and an MVP in the league, scored over 20,000 points," Brown added. "You still know you can play, and to not have everybody jump up, it's a pretty humbling thing. But he can play."
