The Bobcats sent center Alexis Ajinca to the D-Leauge on Monday.

"He's got to get some confidence," coach Larry Brown said of the decision. "He's playing great in practice, and when he gets in a game (his minutes are) spotty at best. That's why you have the D-League."

Ajinca hasn't played in 10 of Charlotte's 16 games this season. Brown said he wants the center to become a more versatile defender.

"I think he has trouble guarding people out on the perimeter and his (lack of) strength is an issue when he's on the post," Brown added. "(But) he's night-and-day ahead of last year and he's great in practice."
