The Nets want to see rookie forward Terrence Williams change his attitude and start to alter his game as well.

"What we'd like Terrence to do is take it to the basket," interim coach and general manager Kiki Vandeweghe told the New York Daily News.

"He has huge athleticism, both on the defensive end and offensive end. He can be a very, very effective defender, and he can be effective on the offensive end also. He's a very good ball-handler, a very good passer and he's athletic enough to get by his guy and take it to the basket. And those are the things we're looking for out of him."

Williams said earlier in the week that he'd continue to shoot jumpers despite a rough skid that included 33 misses in 44 shots.

"They're not guarding me so I'm not going to keep dribbling the ball into people," he said on Monday. "If everybody's in the lane and my man's off of me, I'm going to shoot the ball."

Later on Monday, Williams went public with his frustrations over playing time and posted negative comments on his Twitter page.
