Magic coach Stan Van Gundy says that teams are getting carried away with how hard they foul center Dwight Howard.

"It's out of hand what they're letting people do to Dwight," Van Gundy said. "And if you're going to let people continue to hit him around the head and grab him around the neck, look, I don't care, those are flagrant fouls, they need to be called. I don't care who you are, you're only going to take that for so long. It's absurd what's going on."

On Monday night, Pacers coach Jim O'Brien instructed his team to foul Howard hard. Troy Murphy grabbed the center around the neck and shoulders and Howard responded with an attempted elbow.

Both players were assessed technical fouls on the play.

"For what [big guys] go through, anything short of an all-out brawl at that point, they need to be commended for keeping their cool," Van Gundy said on Tuesday.
