Celtic forward Paul Pierce has banged the same knee that he has been rehabilitating due to two infections in the last month at practice on Sunday, Chris Forsberg from ESPN.com is reporting.

Pierce got tangled with teammate Shelden Williams at the end of practice and limped from the court in pain.

Pierce returned with ice on the knee at the end of practice, and coach Doc Rivers held out hope that it was nothing serious.

"I hope [he's OK], he got kneed [by Williams] in the exact same spot [as the procedures]," said Rivers. "It's just amazing the luck right now with little things like that. That's why he was so upset. He said, 'Man, it's right on the spot.' It's starting to feel better, so I'm hoping he's fine."
