Timberwolves president David Kahn says that the team will not make a major trade prior to the Feb. 18 deadline.

If Minnesota does agree to a trade, Kahn said it would be "modest" and wouldn't include any of the team's "core players."

A modest deal would be a move that gives the Timberwolves more talent off the bench at forward or center.

"No question, we need more length and athleticism on the front line to complement Al [Jefferson] and Kevin [Love]," Kahn said.
