Celtics guard Marquis Daniels hopes to make his return from thumb surgery on Sunday against the Magic.

Daniels has missed Boston's last 27 games while recovering from a torn ligament in his left thumb.

He participated in a full practice on Thursday for the first time since he was sidelined with the injury on Dec. 4.

"I'll get one more good practice in [Saturday] and hopefully I can try for Sunday," said Daniels.

"[Thursday] was like the first day of school. I'm very excited. I'm ready to get back out there, get to play, and be a part of this team."
