Rio Grande Valley Vipers forward Mike Harris was today named NBA Development League Performer of the Week for games played during the week of March 8.  The award is Harris? second this year, and the fourth time a Viper has been honored this season.  

Harris, 6-6, 235-pounds, led the Vipers to a 3-1 record last week, including home victories over the Austin Toros and Tulsa 66ers.  Harris recorded double-doubles in all four Vipers games last week, including a 44-point night (16-of-18 from the field) on March 13, in a 126-103 home win over the 66ers.  The following night, Harris scored 36 points to go with 18 rebounds in a 106-101 home win over Tulsa.  Earlier in the week, Harris scored 25 and 22 points, respectively, in a two-game split with Austin.  During the week, Harris averaged 31.8 points, shooting 65 percent (46-of-71) from the field, to go with 13.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists.

Harris, who has appeared in 32 games for the Vipers this season and has earned call-ups to the Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards this season, leads the NBA D-League in scoring (26.9 ppg) and ranks third in rebounds (10.3 rpg).
