LeBron James has opened to the public the press conference at the University of Akron on Sunday announcing his MVP Award for the 2009-2010 NBA season.

"Perhaps I'm a biased Akron native," wrote Brian Windhorst of The Cleveland Plain Dealer, "but LeBron having MVP press conference today in Akron & open to the public seems like quite a gesture."

Windhorst was a high school classmate of James at St. Vincent-St. Mary in Akron.

This is James' second consecutive MVP.  At age 25, he becomes the second-youngest player ever to win back-to-back MVP Awards in the NBA.  Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was a couple of months younger than James when he won his second consecutive MVP in 1972.
