Magic star Vince Carter is giving former Nets coach Lawrence Frank a full endorsement for the job in Chicago.

Carter played for Frank for five seasons in New Jersey.

"He was great," Carter told ESPNChicago.com. "Very intense.

"It's just like being with [Magic head coach] Stan [Van Gundy]. Very passionate about the game. He wants to win. And he tries to bring out the best in his players. He's great. He pushes you. He listens. He's stubborn sometimes, but you kind of have an appreciation for that because he works hard and he wants to win."

The Nets fired Frank after they began the season 0-16.

"Look at what he had," Carter said. "Look how many [games the Nets] won after he left. Not many. He had 16 games to coach. Look at his r?sum? . Look at what he's accomplished. Look at how many wins he's had."
