Two league sources say the Cavaliers will announce that Mike Brown has been fired on Friday, according to a report from Chris Mannix of Sports Illustrated.

But Mannix's report was denied as inaccurate by Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

"This is not true. As of this moment, at least," wrote Windhorst.

Ken Berger of Sportsline writes that the Cavaliers' management have yet to discuss Brown's future with owner Dan Gilbert.

RealGM Note: Brown was hired as head coach of the Cavaliers in 2005, coming from the Gregg Popovich coaching tree initially.

He compiled a regular season record of 272-138, with the Cavaliers having the best record in each of the past two seasons.

Cleveland also advanced to the 2007 Finals under Brown's direction.
