Magic forward Matt Barnes missed practice on Saturday because of back spasms, but still expects to start on Sunday in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Barnes said that he feels pain in the lower-left side of his back. Orlando will rely on him to guard both Ray Allen and Paul Pierce at times.

Boston is having injury issues of their own.

Celtics center Kendrick Perkins watched his teammates practice on Saturday after his problematic right knee acted up.

Like Barnes, Perkins is still expected to play on Sunday.

"His knee is bothering him," coach Doc Rivers said. "He tried to go early, but it started bothering him a lot. He wanted to go, but I told him, 'Look, I don't need you tonight, you're not going to help me today in practice. I need you tomorrow.' So I shut him down."
