Prior to Monday night's Game 4 between the Magic and Celtics, both Stan Van Gundy and Doc Rivers were asked about Cleveland's decision to fire head coach Mike Brown.

The Cavaliers made the decision to fire Brown late Sunday.

"I think it's very fair to say that he got fired based on three games," Van Gundy said in reference to Cleveland's three straight losses to end their season in the semifinals against Boston.

"When you own a franchise you can do whatever you want," he continued, "but the facts support that Mike Brown is one hell of a coach.

"You can't do a hell of a lot better."

Rivers wasn't as candid as Van Gundy, but was sympathetic to the man he opposed last round.

"I have to say, I wasn't thrilled," Boston's coach said. "He's done as much as you can, back-to-back 60-win seasons, our profession is getting tough."

He was then asked if coaching situations were different when superstars like LeBron James on involved.

Rivers mentioned that he had Tracy McGrady in Orlando and Paul Pierce in Boston, but that expectations weren't nearly as high for those teams when McGrady and Pierce were at their height.

"In LeBron's case, the expectations were sky-high."
