Pistons president Joe Dumars remains confident in the abilities of coach John Kuester.

Dumars said Tuesday that he believes Kuester will be successful going forward.

"We got decimated, guys," Dumars said. "We got decimated early because of injuries. And I'm not sitting here hiding behind injuries, but I'm not going to sit here and pretend we didn't get decimated by injuries -- early and for a long time, for months."

The Pistons lost 155 games from players because of injuries as they slid to a 27-55 record.

"He had to do makeshift lineups continually for three, four straight months, so any coach put in that situation it's going to be tough. So I thought Q did a very good job under the circumstances of what he had to deal with," Dumars said. "If Q can have a healthy team of 82 games, I think he's going to do a great job for us."
