Cavaliers general manager Chris Grant says he turned down a trade that would have added a player with a long-term contract.

Bob Finnan of the News-Herald speculates that Al Jefferson may have been the player Grant could have acquired.

"We're not going to trade long-term assets for short-term gains," Grant said. "We're going to remain very disciplined, non-emotional, very strategic and flexible.

"Adding two human beings like these two guys allows us to do that," he said of Ramon Sessions and Ryan Hollins, who he landed from the Timberwolves.

"These guys are competitors. They fit into our culture. They are just entering their prime. We have high expectations for them and the rest of their guys."
