Bulls point guard Derrick Rose said Tuesday that he's been playing with turf toe on his left big toe since last season.

Rose believes he suffered the injury at some point during Chicago's playoff series against Cleveland, but he doesn't expect to miss any time.

"I don't even know how you get turf toe," Rose said. "I just know that my big toe hurts, and [the Bulls medical staff] said it was turf toe."

Rose is averaging 23.8 points and 9.2 assists, but he's aware that the injury could get more serious if he doesn't monitor it.

"You can't bend your toe at all," Rose said. "I thought it was jammed, but talking to the trainers, it was turf toe."
