Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert recently sent an encouraging text message to Michigan State coach Tim Izzo.

Izzo said the note from Gilbert read "hang in there."

The Spartans have lost two straight -- by 20-plus points -- and five of six after they were ranked No. 2 in the preseason.

Gilbert tried to hire Izzo to coach Cleveland in the summer.
