After looking like the favorite to win Big 12 Player of the Year honors during UT's 10-0 start to conference play, Jordan Hamilton has struggled mightily over the last six games.

Before making three late baskets in the regular-season finale at Baylor, Hamilton had missed 68 of 96 shots. He said he has been dealing with a nagging hip issue for much of the season, but his teammates don't think the injury is the reason his production fell off.

"I think it's all mental," forward Gary Johnson said.

Hamilton is averaging 18.5 points and 7.6 rebounds.

"Confidence is something that goes up and down," UT coach Rick Barnes said. "But it's how you handle it."
