The Celtics turned their eyes toward the playoffs Monday night, deciding to rest their key players rather than go for the second seed in the Eastern Conference.

Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo were inactive for the game against the Wizards, while Ray Allen and Paul Pierce did not play.

“We’re going to sit a lot of the guys today and just get some rest and get ready for the playoffs,” Rivers said before the game.

The Celtics lost the game in overtime, 95-94.
