Washington State guard Klay Thompson will remain in the NBA Draft and will not return to school for his senior season, the school announced Sunday night.

Thompson led the team and the Pacific-10 Conference -- and ranked 11th in the country -- with 21.6 points per game while setting a school record with 733 points during the 2010-11 season. He was named first team all-Pac-10 for the second consecutive season.

“After taking the last few weeks to make my decision about the NBA, I have decided to remain in the draft,” Thompson said in a statement. “I am thankful for my three years at Washington State and have enjoyed my time in Pullman. My dream has always been to play in the NBA and I am excited to take the next step in making that a reality.”
