Brandon Knight, who like Evans played one year for John Calipari in college, is confident he could lead an NBA team.

"I think I would fit in as long as I could come in and be able to run a team," Knight said. "I'm not sure how it would work with Tyreke, but I'm pretty sure we could play together. I just want to come in and fit in wherever I go."

Making a Knight-Evans backcourt work likely won't be an issue.

Knight is expected to go no lower than fifth to Toronto, two spots ahead of the Kings in the first round.

Knight said he would work out for Toronto next week.

So why work out for the Kings?

"You never know," Knight said. "Sacramento's a great city. I know some guys that play on this team, and you never know. Just in case. You come here and work out because you never know where you might slide."
