The Charlotte Bobcats hired former Portland general manager Rich Cho to be their general manager last night. Cho will be in charge of the team's draft room in the upcoming NBA Draft.

Widely respected around the league as one of the new breed of statistically-oriented executives, Cho was fired by the Trail Blazers on May 23 after a 10-month stint with the team for not being a "good fit" with Portland owner Paul Allen.

Charlotte's front office was reportedly impressed by Cho's handling of the mid-season Gerald Wallace trade, and immediately began recruiting him as soon as he was let go. Rod Higgins, the former GM, will become the president of basketball operations for the Bobcats.
