Recently, Rick Carlisle has noticed that quality opponents have been scheming O.J. Mayo as the Dallas Mavericks' star player and No. 1 option.

"In recent games, O.J.'s run into a myriad of high-level teams that are game planning for him as our No.1 guy, and that becomes challenging," Carlisle said. "Kind of the beginning of it was the last Heat game when they were blitzing him all over the court."

Carlisle believes Mayo must adjust to the increased attention teams are showing.

"So this is where he's got to be a little more disciplined," Carlisle said. "He's got to look for opportunities to engage multiple defenders and move the ball quickly to help teammates, and hey, we've got to get stops and rebounds to get him in transition to where he's at his best."
