P.J. Carlesimo told the media on Friday that he’s evaluating the Brooklyn Nets' power forward rotation.

Carlesimo was asked directly if he contemplated starting Mirza Teletovic at power forward.

“Yes,” Carlesimo replied.

Carlesimo was then asked if he will eventually start Teletovic at some point.

“I don’t know,” said Carlesimo. “I’m not sure. Possibly. I just think with the matchups it would be a mismatch situation both ways right from the beginning. Again, I think it’ll depend on what he does if we can carve out, get this time, and look at him going forward, but I don’t know is probably the best answer.”

“That’s good to hear,” said Teletovic smiling widely after hearing Carlesimo’s comments.

If ultimately called upon, Teletovic made it clear that he’s ready for a larger role.

“Definitely, of course,” said Teletovic. “It’s the more you play the more you feel comfortable because it’s tough after a while not playing, now I’m starting to play a little bit more and it’s very good for my confidence.”

Despite being one of the best players overseas, Teletovic expected the competition for playing time to be this difficult with the Nets when he signed.

“When I figured out that we have five guys, five big men, I think we’re the only team that has that in the NBA,” said Teletovic. “I figured it was going to be a tough time, but the thing is you just have to be patient and hang in there. I just try to do my best. I’m a hard worker.”
