The San Antonio Spurs pursued a sign-and-trade deal for Andrei Kirilenko, but talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves have broken off.

Flip Saunders has shown little to no interest in facilitating a sign-and-trade for Kirilenko.

The Wolves were interested in a combination of assets from the Spurs in exchange for Kirilenko, but were unable to take back the $8 million to $9 million in necessary salaries to make a deal work.

Kirilenko opted out of the $10 million owed him in the final year of his contract and has been searching for a multi-year deal.
