Tracy McGrady is reportedly attempting to pursue a career in professional baseball.

"Speaking real quickly of McGrady, I think he’s going to play independent league baseball as a pitcher this year," Jeff Van Gundy said on ESPN's NBA telecast on Friday night. "In the independent league, I’m being serious. I’ve heard from sources in Houston — seriously — that he’s throwing over 90 miles per hour.”

Van Gundy said McGrady would suit up for the Sugar Land Skeeters of the Atlantic League if he decides to pitch.

McGrady played for the San Antonio Spurs last season and retired in the offseason. He was a seven-time NBA All-Star and two-time league scoring champion.
