Donald Sterling has agreed to allow his wife, Shelly Sterling, negotiate a forced sale of the Los Angeles Clippers.

Shelly Sterling and her lawyers have been negotiating with the NBA since her husband was banned for life by commissioner Adam Silver on April 29.

If the parties move forward with this arrangement, it could bring a much faster resolution to the Clippers' transfer of ownership than most were expecting.

The NBA filed charges to terminate Sterling's ownership of the Clippers this week.

Donald Sterling's attorney requested a three-month delay, which was swiftly rejected. He has since reconsidered his course of action to allow his wife to work on the sale.

It is not known whether Shelly Sterling intends to sell the team in its entirety, but that is the only way the NBA will accept these terms.
