LeBron James has informed the Miami Heat that he will exercise his early termination option to become an unrestricted free agent.

Sources tell Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports that James is determined to put pressure on the Heat to improve their roster and to continue to spend money. The Heat used their amnesty provision last summer on Mike Miller, which was bothersome to James.

James signed with the Heat in 2010 and would like the franchise to impress him again with their plan on how to continue as a title contender.

The Cleveland Cavaliers, Houston Rockets, Chicago Bulls and Los Angeles Lakers are teams that can create cap space to acquire James. The Los Angeles Clippers have a more difficult path to creating cap space, but could do so and would represent an attractive option for James.
