The Los Angeles Lakers are under the belief that Kobe Bryant almost certainly will not sign another contract once his current two-year extension is over.

"All indications are, to me, from him, that this (two-year contract) is going to be it," Mitch Kupchak said. "If somebody's thinking of buying a ticket three years from now to see Kobe play, I would not do that. Don't wait. Do it this year."

Bryant has reportedly left open the possibility of signing another deal in 2016. He is nearing Michael Jordan on the all-time scoring leaders.

"When he does pass it," Kupchak said, "it's a testimony to consistency and playing at a high level for a long time. I think that's nice, but I think we all know that he would trade that for a team that competes for the playoffs or a championship."
