Alvin Gentry has hired Darren Erman as an associate head coach on his coaching staff with the New Orleans Pelicans, according to sources.

Erman informed Boston Celtics officials on Tuesday that he has accepted the job with the Pelicans.

Erman is a disciple of Tom Thibodeau and has been credited for defensive schemes in his time with the Golden State Warriors.
